Their aim is to bring this into effect from diwali I think.
Maybe wait a while as 10% reduction would mean 1-2 lakh saving since road tax is also calculated on ex showroom price

After the US tariffs govt is losing big amount of money so how to recover it ? by increasing the consumerism(since we are a consumer based economy) , lowering the tax means more people can buy hence more tax collection hence this will offset the losses from tariffs , it's a proven strategy worked well in china

I believe the government wants people to spend more. If you cut down the gst alongside the tax slabs then people will spend more than they ever have. Now the sensible ones would be smart enough to grow their wealth and all but the majority of the crowd would buy lavish things yet again on EMI. Either way I think it's a win-win situation for the government as well.

First, we got slapped with a 50% tariff, penalty by the U.S., and now they’re putting on this drama of tax reduction all just a desperate attempt to cushion the blow to the economy and mask the GDP hit from that tariff.
